Caregiver Center
The Caregiver Center at Sentara Martha Jefferson provides a lifeline of emotional support, assistance and connection with resources for caregivers.
When facing life-altering and advancing illness, the caregiver often plays a critical role in patient care. Frequently ill prepared for overwhelming circumstances - caregivers can be at a loss in navigating the healthcare system, coordinating and caring for their loved one, and balancing their lives.
Caregiver Center Staff and volunteers visit with families both during hospital rounds and at the Caregiver Center, which opened in 2020, provides a conveniently located physical center and "oasis" where caregivers receive holistic care and support, access to resources and assistance, and training/education.
