The Martha Jefferson Hospital's 8K Run and 4K Walk will celebrate its 14th year on March 13, 2010, which typically attracts well over 950 participants.  Each year, the proceeds benefit an area of need at the hospital. This year, the beneficiary will be the Martha Jefferson Community Services Outreach programs.  Designed to promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle, these programs include First Saturday's Blood Pressure Checks, Supermarket Smarts Classes, Diabetes Education Programs and Health Screenings for adults and school age children, just to name a few.

Martha Jefferson launched a "Going Green" campaign in 2009, in which participants contributed an abundance of nonperishable food items and in return MJH Registered Dietitians gave out a free reusable grocery shopping bag along with tips for healthy eating on a budget and money saving recipes.  The "Going Green" campaign will continue to be a part of this year's race. Bring your food donations to packet pickup to support the Martha Jefferson Hospital 16th Annual Food Drive which benefits the Thomas Jefferson Area Food Bank.

Prizes: A Jefferson Cup will be awarded to the 8K top three male and top three female finishers. Walkers will be entered in a drawing to receive an ane hour massage from The Spa at ACAC. The top three runners in each age group will also be recognized. All participants will be placed in the Grand Prize drawing for an ACAC Full-Facility Family 1-Year Membership. Many door prizes.
