The 16th Annual Martha Jefferson 8K run & 4K walk
and 1/3 mile Kid's Dash

March 10, 2012

Thank you to all of the participants, volunteers and spectators who joined us on Saturday, March 10th for the 16th Annual Martha Jefferson 8K run & 4K walk and our newest addition, 1/3 mile Kid's Dash. The weather was beautiful and the run and walk course meandered through the historic and scenic neighborhoods of downtown showcasing many of the favored sites in Charlottesville. A special thanks to the Charlottesville Day School for hosting packet pick-up and the post race activities. We hope to see you next year!

Thanks to YOUR support, proceeds from the event will assist Martha Jefferson Hospital Community Outreach programs. Designed to promote wellness and a healthy lifestyle, these programs include free blood pressure and blood sugar checks, Supermarket Smarts Classes, Diabetes Education Programs, and equipment to accommodate bariatric patients. Health education programs for school-age children of all ages are also offered. These are just a few of the programs and services offered to the community and patients as part of the Martha Jefferson Hospital Caring Tradition.
