Friends of Martha Jefferson
Donation Level: $100 to $999, Annually
Friends of Martha Jefferson remain vitally important in the life of the hospital. Now more than ever before, philanthropic support is critical to help fund initiatives that rely solely on the generosity of our community. Over the years, Friends of Martha Jefferson introduced hundreds of community members to Martha Jefferson Hospital, and became a vital source of financial support for new clinical programs and technologies as well as being the point of entry for many of today's Martha Jefferson Society members.
Funds generated through Friends of Martha Jefferson have contributed to the development of Cancer Care, Heart and Vascular Care, Women's Health, Community Health Partnerships, and the Nursing Care Endowment. This generosity has paid great homage to Mr. and Mrs. James Addison Patterson, who in 1928 donated $100,000 for the purpose of constructing a new, "replacement" hospital at the corner of High Street and Locust Avenue.
Community support is helping our team of Martha Jefferson cancer specialists, cardiologists, interventional radiologists, vascular and cardiac surgeons, nursing professionals and technicians reach their team goal to become a one-stop, around-the-clock center, offering diagnostic procedures, therapeutic interventions, minimally invasive surgery and welness programs.
The annual minimum recognition requirement for Friends of Martha Jefferson is $100, with the donor's ability to designate gifts above this threshold. Friends of Martha Jefferson receive special recognition as supporters of the Hospital and are encouraged to reach out to others who may be interested in supporting community healthcare. Friends of Martha Jefferson are recognized in a prominent Hospital lobby display; in Tribute, the Foundation’s publication, and are invited to the Foundation’s annual thank you - Family Day at Nutmeg Farm.
